The conference "Mathematics in Quantum Technologies–2022" will be held on December 05–08, 2022.

"Numbers and functions" – Memorial conference for 80th birthday of Alexey Nikolaevich Parshin was held on November 28–December 02, 2022.

 T. Fernique's mini-course "Aperiodic tilings" is held at the Math Department of HSE and Steklov Mathematical Institute on November 28–December 12, 2022.

Nikolai Nikolaevich Andreev has been awarded by the IMU the Leelavati Prize 2022 for his contribution to the art of mathematical animation and of mathematical model-building, in a style which inspires the young and the old alike, and which mathematicians around the world can adapt to their varied uses-as well as for his indefatigable efforts to popularize genuine mathematics among the public via videos, lectures, and a prize-winning book.

International conference "Ergodic Theory and Related Topics" was held on November 21–25, 2022.

New Trends in Mathematical Physics Conference was held on November 7–12, 2022.

SIMC is currently open for applications for potential courses and seminars to be run during the Spring semester 2022/2023.

The deadline for the applications is November 30, 2022. Once collected, the applications will be assessed by a special committee. The Spring semester will begin on February 06, 2023. Reading a course is rewarded with a single payment of 150 000 rubles, while running a seminar — with a payment of 100 000 rubles. The course (seminar) must consist of at least 10 lectures (meetings), all happening during the semester.

Applications should include:
  • name of the course/seminar (including the information whether it is a course or a seminar),
  • names and emails of the lecturers/organizers,
  • annotation,
  • preliminary program (can be attached as a PDF file),
  • preferred day of the week (in case a room is necessary).
The committee welcomes courses and seminars on a wide range of mathematical subjects which can be interesting to a large number of students.

Please, send your applications via email to S. Nemirovski (stefan@mi-ras.ru).
