News

The International Conference "Dynamical Systems of Classical and Celestial Mechanics" will be held on September 19–23, 2022.

Nikolai Nikolaevich Andreev has been awarded by the IMU the Leelavati Prize 2022 for his contribution to the art of mathematical animation and of mathematical model-building, in a style which inspires the young and the old alike, and which mathematicians around the world can adapt to their varied uses-as well as for his indefatigable efforts to popularize genuine mathematics among the public via videos, lectures, and a prize-winning book.

The 9th Summer School-Conference on Geometrical Methods in Mathematical Physics was held on July 05–10, 2022.

The Fifth International Conference "Supercomputer Technologies of Mathematical Modelling" was held on June 27–30, 2022.

International Conference on Algebraic Geometry was held on June 28–30, 2022.

International Conference "Branching processes, random walks and probability on discrete structures" was held on June 21–24, 2022.

SIMC is currently open for applications for potential courses and seminars to be run during the Fall semester 2022/2023.

The deadline for the applications is July 15, 2022. Once collected, the applications will be assessed by a special committee. The Fall semester will begin on September 12, 2022.
The classes can be run in person, online, or in a mixed format. The necessary tech support will be provided by SIMC.
Reading a course is rewarded with a single payment of 150 000 rubles, while running a seminar — with a payment of 100 000 rubles. The course (seminar) must consist of at least 10 lectures (meetings), all happening during the semester.

Applications should include:
  • name of the course/seminar (including the information whether it is a course or a seminar),
  • names and emails of the lecturers/organizers,
  • annotation,
  • preliminary program (can be attached as a PDF file),
  • preferred day of the week (in case a room is necessary).
The committee welcomes courses and seminars on a wide range of mathematical subjects which can be interesting to a large number of students.

Please, send your applications via email to S. Nemirovski (stefan@mi-ras.ru) with a copy to I. Chimidova (chimidova@mi-ras.ru).

International Conference "Differential Equations and Optimal Control" dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Academician Evgenii Frolovich Mishchenko was held on June 7–9, 2022.
